The Baby Elephant Boutique Hotel Gin Appreciation Society popup in Siem Reap, Cambodia

After our star-studded Baby Elephant Gin Appreication Society popup event in March, led by Phnom Penh’s premier mixologist from the legendary cocktail bar Le Boutier, we’re back at 7pm this Thursday 11 May for an all-healing full-moon edition of our evenings of gin-loving antics.

Brewed as it is from numerous botanicals, gin has been used for its natural healing properties for hundreds of years. So as the full moon prepares to shine down on the spiritual town of Siem Reap, buzzing with mystical energy and renowned for its mesmerising temples at the Angkor Wat complex, what better opportunity could there be to roll out our full moon gin party?

Join us as we bathe under the moonlight, with wood nymphs and other pagan creatures, and try some delicious healing tinctures. The Baby Elephant Boutique Hotel team will be showcasing three tasty, original cocktails with healing properties, plus a variety of innovative gin and tonic recipes. You can beat the gin-induced hunger pangs with snacks including recipes from Jakarta’s Slam Dunk Sandwich Co., previously headed up by Baby Elephant’s very own Adam and Ilana – we’ll also have some special pagan tunes to set the scene and, if you fancy something just a tad more conventional, our standard cocktail and drinks list will also be available.

This month’s Gin Appreciation Society event takes place at 7pm on Thursday 11 May. Hotel residents are welcome to join us, as well as visitors staying elsewhere, expats and locals – but numbers for the event are strictly limited, and reservations are essential. To secure your place, please e-mail bookings@babyelephant.asia.

New to the Baby Elephant Gin Appreciation Society? Here’s the inside scoop: we’re unashamedly jumping on the bandwagon of the gin fever sweeping the region (and the world) – yet which oddly hasn’t yet made huge waves in Siem Reap – and declaring our love for botanicals. Baby Elephant’s monthly Gin Appreciation Society is a casual yet impassioned meeting of gin-lovers, allowing us to embark on a journey of discovery together.
